Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world and livestock provide a potential route out of poverty for very poor households. Goat has been described as a poor man’s cow because of its immense contribution to the poor man’s economy. It not only supply nutritious and easily digestible milk but also regular source of additional income for poor and land less or marginal farmers. Prova Society is implementing this project in Jhenaidah sadar upazila with the support of Bangladesh NGO Foundation. The activities of the project are to provide goat farming training and distribution of goat among poor and disadvantage women.
